Acoustic Phase Array – Circuits and Electronics  

• Designed a 19 speaker hexagonal array that focused sound on set focal point
• Wrote MATLAB code to simulate and compare to our measured results

Analog Interface – Sensor and Peripheral Interface Design

• Used A/D to sample an analog audio signal and a D/A converter to reproduce the sound
• Wrote Verilog code to produce read and write cycles on clock edges
• Used multiple clock cycles to create a shift register and verify status of the D/A converter

Reactively Tuned Amplifier – Communication Electronics

• Designed and constructed an amplifier with proper tuning network to satisfy gain specifications
• Ensured that the high frequency amplifier is stabilized at the design frequency
• Used transmission lines and radial shunt stubs to increase maximum available gain

1965 Ford Thunderbird Taillight Replica 

• Using Verilog, coded a FPGA to replicate a Ford Thunderbird taillight operation
• Treated taillight as finite-state machine and used switches to determine the desired operation

DC Motor Control

• Used optical encoder to determine rev/min, direction of rotation, position
• Controlled motor speed using pulse-width modulated signal
